This keyboard is really one of it's kind. The stock sound is crazy! I've never heard a stock keyboard thock like this. It is also very sturdy, great for both gaming and everyday typing. Also, I have to give a huge thank you to the support team. I've had a problem with my keyboard, I messaged them, and after a while they arranged for the old keyboard to be taken to their testing team, to look for any faults, all while sending me a brand new one. Honestly, one of the best experiences with customer support I've ever had. If you want a high-quality custom keyboard that sounds incredibly, make sure to get this one.
I'll make this short
PROs (besides the basics)
- Seriously HEAVY (you could use this thing as a weapon lol)
- good gripping on the underside
- Good box (lots of protection foam)
CONs
- I wish it had an ALL WHITE function on the backlight
- issues connecting to VIA for key mapping
- I was able to find a 3rd party app to install for remap for MacOS
- I wish the charging cable was usb-c on both ends (one end is usb-a)
TLDR: the PROs are excellent, the CONs are super small nitpicks
I love my gx87. The heavy aluminum build makes it feel sturdy and premium quality. The double shot pbt keycaps are very pleasant to type on our just feel under my fingers while gaming. If they offered a 100% size version I would buy another one for use in the office, but a numpad is necessary for my work. I reswitched mine with silent tactile switches and the process was easy even for someone like me, who has never done it before.
I'm an avid keyboard builder and for the price of this keyboard, it is setting some high standards in the market. Recommended for anyone who is a keyboard enthusiast.
